About Craniosacral Therapy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle, light touch type of bodywork focusing on the interrelated unity of all systems in the body, each working with the other to keep the body healthy. Some of the many benefits of Craniosacral Therapy include effecting lasting change from pain patterns, decreasing anxiety, restoring a general sense of health and well-being, and a release from the effects of emotional and physical trauma.
BCST practitioners bring the awareness to their practice of the inherent health of a person’s whole being and facilitate the natural rebalancing of the nervous system, as well as address the effects of physical constrictions- blocks and restrictions within the body’s structure which can arise from everyday stress, injury, emotional and physical trauma, and chronic illness and disease. This rebalancing occurs by an attunement of the therapist’s influences on the spinal column, central nervous system, and cerebrospinal fluid & other fluid systems while perceiving and supporting subtle movements of the body’s tissues and fluids. The potency that unfolds from this biodynamic process is palpable and can lead to a greater sense of ease and comfort by helping decrease symptoms and also by allowing the body to access and maintain deeper states of relaxation.
During a session the client lies on a massage table wearing comfortable clothing. Clients can choose the length of a session, usually from 30-90 minutes.
